The Liberty District was a thriving with shops, offices, auditoriums, and homes. Lively music and delicious food filled the air.
The Columbus Black History Tour shares stories of national celebrities and world pioneers, such as Gertrude “Ma’ Rainey and Eugene Bullard. George Washington Carver, Alma Thomas, and Frank “The Big Hurt” Thomas all had ties to Columbus.
The tour spotlights civil rights leaders Thomas Brewer and Martin Luther King, Jr.
